Volunteering at Royal Museums Greenwich is a great way to develop your skills while supporting us and enhancing the experience of our visitors.

Do you have some free time and enjoy helping people? Are you interested in ships, seafarers and how the oceans have shaped our history? Or do astronomy, art or architecture float your boat?

If so, you might like to apply to become part of our dedicated team of volunteers.

Volunteers in the current situation

Volunteers have long played a key role in supporting Royal Museums Greenwich, and we are grateful for your interest in volunteering with us. As a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Royal Museums Greenwich recently closed our doors, but we are now focussed on re-opening safely for all.

When we are ready to involve new volunteers, we'll promote volunteering opportunities here on our website. Hopefully we'll have a volunteering role that will be just right for you.

Project Volunteers

Here at Royal Musuems Greenwich we are launching a new way to volunteer with us!

We want to break down some of those barriers that prevent people from volunteering, and we want our teams to reflect the communities we engage with.

Our new Project Volunteer programme will be a rolling opportunity, with no minimum commitment, for individuals to volunteer with us for as little or as many projects throughout the year.

We are looking for people who want to gain some museum experience and want to support us with our various festivals and events throughout the year.

If you’re interested in this opportunity, please email volunteers@rmg.co.uk
