Journal of Reverend Charles Edward Panter (Volume 10: Nov 1895 to Nov 1899)

Service on the central battery ship HMS ALEXANDRA (1875) at Portland, then from Mar 1896 on the armoured cruiser HMS IMPERIEUSE (1883), flagship on the Pacific station, based at Esquimalt near Vancouver. Including visits to Panama and Chile, and his voyage home via the South Atlantic beginning in Apr 1899. Inserts include handwritten schedule, typescript (two pages) titled “Summarised from the late Revd C.E. Panter’s Diary No 10 by C.H. PANTER, 1976” and plant specimen attached with two Peruvian postal stamps.
