HMS Sussex's Royal Marine and Maori tug-of-war teams

Lieutenant W. J. K. Shaxby and the Royal Marine Colour Seargent are kneeling at the centre of the group with an unidentified officer in civilian clothes and a Maori man kneeling to the right.

The print is captioned: 'Lt. Shaxby with R.M. + Maori Tug of War Team Russell'.

HMS Sussex arrived at Russell, New Zealand, on 6 March 1935 and departed on 12 March 1935 for Auckland.
