The plan bears signatures from Robert Spencer Robinson [Controller of the Navy 1861-1871], Isaac Watts [Chief Constructor 1860-1863], Joseph Large [Constructor in 1862] and Richard Abethell [Acting Constructor 1862]. The drawing also bears signatures of Lord Admiral Clarence Edward Paget [First Secretary to the Admiralty 1862], Admiral The Hon. Sir Frederick William Grey [First Naval Lord 1861-1866] and Lord Edward Adolphus Seymour 12th Duke of Somerset [First Lord of the Admiralty 1859-1866]. The drawing also bears an Admiralty Board Minute Stamp dated 19 May 1862.
