Celestial table globe

Celestial table globe. Astronomical details on the sphere include a labelled magnitude table in an oval cartouche above Bootes. The stars are marked by their Bayer notation. The Milky Way and the Magellanic clouds are labelled. There are labels for nova in Cygnus, 'Nova 1600', and in Vulpecula, '1670 Nova'.

A total of 73 stars and five star groups are named. The 48 Ptolemaic constellations and four of the non-Ptolemaic constellations are drawn. There are six of the southern constellations as well as those of Plancius, Hevelius and Lacaille. However, not all the southern constellations are labelled. For full details about the cartography and construction of this globe please refer to the related publication.
