In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
We have given consideration to your letter of 9 May, setting out what appears on the books of the Navy Office about allowances made for the loss of clothes of officers and seamen of ships sunk, burnt or taken by the enemy during the last two Dutch wars. We think it fitting to direct that like allowances be made to respective officers and seaman of the PORTSMOUTH when she was taken by the enemy last summer.
