Document signed by James Southerne, Secretary to the Admiralty, fl. 1690-1694.

Captain John Venner, Commander of the SWEEPSTAKES, in his letter of 3 April advises that he has received 160 soldiers and but one day's provisions left and has sent his warrant officers for stores wanting and they have returned without anything. I enclose a copy of his letter and desire you to inform us where the delay has been.
