Warship (1850); Second rate; 90 guns

Scale: 1:48. A contemporary full hull model of a 90-gun ship of the line (circa 1850). It is complete with a number of fittings and is fully rigged with sails. It is likely that it was a proposed design similar to the ‘Rodney’ of the 1830s although with an increased beam suggesting a later date. The rigging includes some details, which would suggest that it was not made in England although it certainly was made to represent a British ship. However, it is known that at some point, it was owned by someone living in Dunkirk. At this scale it represents a ship measuring 208 feet in length by 60 feet in the beam.
