Pocket watch in a gold and enamel pair-case. Outer case: bezel enamelled in blue with wavy white ribbon bordered in gold. Similar treatment on back, surrounding a polychrome enamelled scene depicting two ships engaged in combat, full moon and clouds above, with 4 survivors in a sail-boat in foreground sea. Inner case: plain with assay marks and inscriptions. Outer case includes a watch paper commemorating Admiral Lord Viscount Nelson and "The (13) Naval Victories from 1747 in which 4 or moreShips were taken". Full-plate movement, capped. Cylinder escapement (now with steel wheel and cylinder), balance cock with diamond end-stone.
