12 December marks the 450th anniversary of the birth of Queen Anne of Denmark. A keen patron of the arts, she commissioned architect Inigo Jones to design the Queen's House.
Head to the Queen's House for a weekend of celebratory talks, tours and creative workshops focused around the history of England's first Classical building.

Storytelling: Jules and jewels – James I and Anne of Denmark

Immerse yourself in a story about the creation of the Queen’s House.
Suitable for children aged 3-8.
Art session: festive greeting cards
11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm, Undercroft
Create your own festive greeting cards inspired by wintry Greenwich scenes and items from Royal Museums Greenwich's collections.

Learn about Queens Consort such as Queen Anne of Denmark and Queen Henrietta Maria, and their roles in the history of the Queen’s House.

Prepare to swoon over royal love stories played out in Greenwich’s romantic scenery.
Queen’s House Treasures Tour
12.45pm and 3.45pm, Various rooms, starting in the Great Hall
Join our passionate team and learn about the history of this former royal residence. Gaze upon the Great Hall, wander down the Tulip Stairs and discover the stories within our collection. Visitors will also gain exclusive access to the balcony with views towards Greenwich Park.
For this special weekend, the 60-minute tour will be free. On the day, wristbands can be collected from the Admissions Desk, located In the Undercroft. Wristbands will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Please be aware the tour has a capacity of 24 people.
