Bold Mellon Collective has been commissioned to create a live-art performance response to Crossings - a new contemporary art display on migration at the Queen’s House, Greenwich.
This new performance blends sounds of 'home' and 'belonging' through poetry and movement, responding directly to the Crossings display.
Through movement and sound, the performers will display the experiences of migration and creating home, community, and identity. This will show how deeply we can connect with others when we share stories, experiences and spaces.
Performance schedule:
● 12.30pm
● 2pm
Following the 12.30pm performance, you are encouraged to join a community collaging workshop facilitated by Amanda Kamanda - a transwoman activist, model, refugee advocate, and co-founder of Minority Inclusion Front (MIF UK).
Following the 2pm performance, you are invited to stay for a post-show Q&A with the artists, alongside community members and advocates working across migration, refugee rights, and LGBTQIA+ inclusion. They will unpack topics including queer migration, covering present-day challenges facing LGBTQIA+ migrants, and the role of creative collective action in building more inclusive futures.
The 2pm performance and Q&A will be BSL interpreted. All events are relaxed, with sensory toys and earplugs available.
