PM11766/34; A group of passengers on the shore at Pauline Cove, Herschel Island, for the trip back to the Kapitan Dranitsyn by Zodiac RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat). Two of the Zodiac RIBs are drawn up on the shore, one is obscured by the white hut in the middle distance. These were used to transport the passengers to and from the island back to the ice breaker.

PM11769/6; A view of the abandoned settlement at Pauline Cove, Herschel Island, looking at the Bonehouse with the Community House just behind. Captain McKenna's Cabin, built around 1893, partially obscures the Bonehouse and the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals Building that housed the transmitter. This was in operation between 1930 and 1938.

The black paint work has been removed from areas of the hull revealing the red oxide paint - the impact of continual contact with the pack ice. Part of the stern from the funnel aft is obscured by a small ice floe/berg.
