James de Saumarez, 1st Baron de Saumarez (1757-1836)
Miniature entitled 'James Lord De Saumarez (1757-1836)'. The miniature is executed in watercolour on ivory. The miniature is now unframed, but was formerly mounted and framed with a series of miniatures depicting Naval Captains associated with Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). The miniature is discoloured and faded. The sitter is shown in a black jacket and a high-necked, white shirt. He has jaw-length grey hair.
