Diary kept by Frederick Arthur Buckley, 17 July to 21 October 1915. In this period Buckley was a gunnery lieutenant on the battleship HMS VENERABLE (1899) in the Mediterranean. The events include engagements with Turkish batteries and a visit to the trenches at Suvla Bay, the death of Lieutenant-Commander Thomas Edwards Greenshields on Anzac Beach and the arrival of his wife at Gibraltar.
