Blast off to the National Maritime Museum for a special storytelling and social club session for under 5s on the themes of space and time. It'll be out of this world!

The session is free but there are limited spaces. Pre-booking is required.

About Little Stars

Join our Astronomy team, a friendly facilitator and their rabbit friend Pip for a fun, free storytelling adventure exploring space and time.

These fun, storytelling sessions are jam-packed with music, movement, role play, sensory exploration and relaxation. Perfect for the whole family to get involved!

After the story, you're welcome to stay and play, as we provide a drop-in social club where children can play with toys, sensory objects, and enjoy colouring activities while their grown-ups enjoy a cuppa and a chat.

Little Stars is designed to aid your little one’s development, to create an opportunity for quality time and a chance to meet new people. But most of all, the session is built to be fun!

Little Stars storytelling sessions begin at 10.30am and is approximately 35 minutes long. This is immediately followed by the social club that runs until 12.30pm.

Free refreshments are included.

  • Little Stars takes place in the Rethink Space, in the Sammy Ofer Wing of the National Maritime Museum. The best entrance for this space is the Parkside entrance.
  • Children cannot be left unattended and must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
  • Please leave buggies in the buggy park, except where babies are sleeping.
  • Capacity is limited for these sessions.

Access information

  • The Rethink Space has level access and is situated next to the buggy park in the National Maritime Museum.
  • There are toilets, baby-changing facilities and a changing places toilet nearby. These are all wheelchair accessible.
  • There is a partition wall that separates the Rethink Space from the rest of the museum. A child-gate is placed in the open gap of the partition wall to prevent children wandering off.
