Join us for a day of ocean fun with this interactive family experience!
Ready Steady Sail! a live creative art adventure, invites you to individually design and customise your own cut out cardboard boat, inspired by the rich collection of ships at the museum.
Climb inside your personalised painted ship and set sail across our new Ocean Map. Discover the secrets of the deep through an interactive performance before sailing your unique boat home.
There will be four sessions on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 July, taking place at 10.30am, 12pm, 1.45pm, 3.15pm. Sessions will run for approximately 45 minutes each. You must book a free ticket using the link above to take part.
The sessions are suitable for ages 3+, due to the size of the boats.
Participants will be playing with crayons, pens, paint pads and rollers... so best not to wear your best clothes!

Useful info
How to book tickets
- Everyone attending will need a ticket to ensure we stay within capacity and have enough boats!
- Book your free ticket via Eventbrite by clicking the 'book now' button at the top of this page.
- There is limited capacity on this session, please cancel your ticket if you can no longer attend via Eventbrite or by emailing us on families@rmg.co.uk
What to do when you arrive
- We ask that all buggies are left in buggy parking, except where babies are sleeping.
- Please meet the Learning Space. The group will travel between the Learning Space and the new Ocean Map during the session. There is lift access between these spaces.
