'Straits of Sunda'

Inscribed in ink top left by the artist, as title, and mounted on page 22 (verso) in Fanshawe's West Indies, North American and Borneo scrapbook (ZBA4855). A three-sheet panoramic foldout of which only the centre is fixed down showing a coastal profile also inscribed left to right across the bottom with locations shown and compass bearings; 'Princes Island', 'NE1/2E', 'Prince's Channel', 'Friar's Rock'. 'N.E', 'Java Head', 'Palambang P[oin]t / E 3/4N'. This suggests it is a view from south-west of Prince's Island looking through the Prince's Channel into the Sunda Strait, with Java on the right.
