Letters from Captain Gordon Reinhold Bald to his father during early career and photograph of HMS BRITANNIA cadets
Four letters from Captain Gordon Reinhold to his father, one written while he was a pupil at Eastman's Royal Naval Academy and three letters sent while serving as a midshipman on board HMS MAGNIFICENT October-November 1901. Folder also contains a photograph of a term of HMS BRITANNIA cadets circa 1900 and a 1912 clipping of a cartoon titled 'Into the valley of death' showing a 'British hero going to certain destruction on the new man-controlled torpedo'.
