Letters and photographs covering Captain Gordon Reinhold Bald's education and naval career
Folder containing a mixture of material including 11 letters from Captain Gordon Reinhold Bald to his parents sent while attending Eastman's academy and letters sent to Bald during his naval career mainly congratulating him on promotions or containing family news and news from friends or relatives serving on the Western Front during the First World War. There is also a telegram informing Bald of his father's death and various photographs of Bald in uniform, mainly taken during the Second World War period, and one photograph of Britannia Royal Naval training ship. The folder also contains examination results from Eastman's Academy, newspaper clippings reporting his naval appointments, business cards, and the text of a speech given to Camberley Rotarians on his time in Japan in late 1945.
