Journal kept as an officer in training, HMS GRAFTON, 1903-1904
Journal kept by Captain Gordon Reinhold Bald while in HMS GRAFTON on the Pacific Station. This documents his time at Esquimalt, visits to Valparaiso and Coquimbo, and details the officer training given in the pre-war period. The journal also contains illustrations of HMS GRAFTON at Acapulco, Union Bay, Alberni Canal, and Coquimbo (Pacific Station), and diagrams of the internal workings of engines and a 72lb mine.
