A display case of silver table centrepieces or salts in the Blake Gallery, Royal Naval Exhibition, Chelsea

A view of a large wooden-framed glass display case in the Blake Gallery, Royal Naval Exhibition, Chelsea. The case contains a large number or ornate silver ships with wheels on stands, possibly salts or table centrepieces. The large painting behind the case was, at the time, attributed to Lingelbach and lent by B. S. Marks. It was believed to depict the embarkation of Catherine of Braganza. The painting was sold at Sotheby's on 16 April 1999, as Lot 111, from the Earl of Hardwick's collection and described as a 'Mediterranean capriccio' attributed to Lorenzo Castro (active 1672-1700).
