A view of a mock naval battle on the lake in the quadrangle between the buildings, Royal Naval Exhibition, Chelsea

A view of a mock naval battle in the lake in the quadrangle between the buildings, Royal Naval Exhibition, Chelsea. A crowd of spectators around the edge of the lake are watching the battle between the models of the turret ship 'Edinburgh' (left with the bow out of the image) and the barbette ship 'Majestic' (right, bow view). Smoke is rising from the latter model. One of the four 2nd-class 10ft Trinity House buoys can be seen off the stern of the Edingurgh. In the background (l-r) are the Grandstand, the 'Great National Panorama of the Battle of Trafalgar' building, the P & O Steamship Company 'kiosk' (pavilion), the Tudor-style 'George' refreshment pavilion.
