A view of Flamsteed House from the east showing the old gate and outer wall connecting with an extension to the east pavilion, much closer to the main building than today. The ground floor extension to the left of Flamsteed House, with the large chimney keeping smoke clear of the Octagon Room windows was removed when the extension was rebuilt in the 1830s. [PvdM 4/04]
