Medicine chest

Wooden medicine chest belonging to Adm John Lort Stokes (1812-85). In top compartment sixteen bottles, twelve with leather covers. Drawer in base held shut by metal rod. Rack for seven bottles at back (one missing). Two metal pill compartments, balance and weights. One pill box, four bottles, a measuring flask, glass pestle and mortar. Lid lined with green plush.
