H.M.S. "Ascot" was an 'Ascot' class paddle minesweeper and was torpedoed by UB67 off the Farne Islands (Seahouses) on 10 November 1918 (55 38N, 1 30W). All 53 on board were lost (RNLI launched on hearing the explosion but found no survivor). "Ascot" was the last Royal Navy ship to be sunk during WWI hostilities. There is a model in the Imperial War Museum.
