Attacker (1941)

Scale 1:192. Plan is a copy of pages 6-11 of a booklet of as fitted drawings of the Attacker class escort carrier Attacker (1941). The drawing includes the Flight deck (page 6),the walkways and gun platforms (Page 7), the gallery deck (Page 8), the forecastle deck (Page 9), the main deck (Page 10) and the second deck (Page 11). This plan is torn and part of the right hand end is missing. Marked in pencil are the words "Received....in this condition 5/2/45".

Attacker was originally laid down as the cargo vessel "Steel Artisan", but converted while building to the Royal Navy escort carrier "Attacker" (served as assault carrier in the Mediterranean and Aegean). It was returned to the USA in 1946, converted to a passenger ship and renamed "Castel Forte", later "Fairsky", before being scrapped in 1980.
