"AXE" CLASS TRAWLERS (1916) SWEEPING DECK FOR FISHERY PROTECTION GUNBOATS

Scale 1:48 sketch giving a Profile and Plan showing sweeping gera on the after deck. Drawn by a Sub-Lt Royal Navy (signature not decipherable) and stamped S.O. M.S.F. H.M.S. "Sherborne", March 1923. ("Sherborne" was a "Hunt" class minesweeper). This sketch was drawn on the back of part of "Mooring and Manoeuvring Board for Fleet Purposes".

"Axe" class trawlers were 17 in number ex-Russian seized or handed over in the White Sea in August 1918.
