'Entrance to Nagasaki' [Japan]

No. 16 of 51 (PAJ2051 - PAJ2101): inscribed by the artist on the album page, as title, and dated '3/68'. Nagasaki is the capital and the largest city of modern Nagasaki prefecture, in the south-west of the Japanese island of Kyushu. It has a very long natural harbour, orientated approximately north-north-east to south-south-west, with an outer bay which is also well sheltered. This view appears to look south-west across the inner harbour entrance at roughly the point now spanned by the Megami Bridge, with a small Japanese burial plot lower right.
