Series of letters to and from William Edward Parry including a letter from William Edward Parry titled Private 29th September 1837 a letter from William Edward setting up a meeting with Sir William Hooker to discuss William's son Joseph Dalton Hooker 14 January 1839; a letter to Mr Hartford suggesting that John Franklin who was Master attendant of the Royal William Victualling might be able to help with Hartford's nautical exploration 14th October 1843; a letter from John Franklin to William Edward Parry which was included in William Edwards letter to Mr Hartford 13th October 1843; a letter from William Shrewsbury to Miss Rammel as well as a photograph of a painting of Sir Edward Parry.

Rear Admiral Sir William Edward Parry, (19 December 1790 – 8 or 9 July 1855) was an English rear-admiral and Arctic explorer. Sir William Jackson Hooker, (July 6, 1785 - August 12, 1865), English botanist who was the first director of the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew.
