Evenings and Lates

Be starry-eyed with your loved one - join us for a an evening of Valentine’s fun

Come and enjoy a evening of events at the Royal Observatory Greenwich, including a romantically themed planetarium show, a chance to look at the moon through our our 18-tonne Victorian telescope and spend some time in the Meridian Courtyard with a glass of fizz, standing on the Prime Meridian of the world.

The evening provides an opportunity to visit the Observatory after hours, and to meet a number of different astronomers with whom you can discuss topics from the life cycles of stars, to collisions between galaxies and more besides!

Our romantic stargazing sessions include glasses of bubbly and a classic red rose for each couple attending.

Weather conditions

If rain, cloud or high winds prevent observing, unique footage taken through the telescope will be projected through the eyepiece to provide an experience that is close to the real thing. Refunds are not possible.

The Great Equatorial Telescope is only accessible via a staircase, so unfortunately is unsuitable for people with mobility issues.
