Court document
Court recovery to the Sheriff of Lawrence County, State of Alabama, raised on 19 April 1831, against Isaac Johnson for payment of debts to John Gilmer. The reverse records, with an inscription which contains historical and offensive terms, the taking possession of 'a Negro man about twenty-seven and George, a boy of about fifteen years all as property of the within defendant', 30 April 1831, signed John Griggstiff.
