Skua Gulls on the breaking ice floes.

A distant view of Terra Nova (1884) alongside the ice floe with Captain Scott, Dr Wilson and Commander 'Teddy' Evans in the middle distance returning to the ship across the ice. They are walking the route used by the expedition to offload equipment, fodder, provisions and fuel - in the far distance by the ship are members of the crew sorting loads for bringing ashore.

The print has a typed caption: 'Capt. Scott, Wilson and Evans returning to the ship across the ice. Jan 9th 1911.'
