Queen Mary (1934); Passenger vessel; Liner; Transatlantic liner

Scale: Unknown. A miniature waterline model of the Cunard Line transatlantic passenger liner Queen Mary (1934) made entirely in wood with metal fittings and painted in realistic colours. A number of fittings and features have been drawn onto the model rather than depicted in three dimensions. The hull is painted red, at the waterline, black above, with white bulwarks and upperworks. Features include a forecastle with well deck abaft of it; forward deck with foremast and three derrick booms; main superstructure, arranged over five decks, the forward elevation façade of which is stepped terminating in a large enclosed pilot house and enclosed bridge wing cabs; enclosed promenade deck running the entire length of the superstructure; twenty-four lifeboats, painted white, eight rectangular ventilators; three swept funnels painted red with black tops in Cunard Line house colours; mainmast; secondary bridge with open bridge wings; and a cruiser stern.
