Danmark (1933); Service vessel; Sail training ship
Scale: Unknown. A miniature waterline model of the Danish sail training ship Danmark (1933) made entirely in wood with metal fittings and painted in realistic colours. A number of fittings and features have been drawn onto the model rather than depicted in three dimensions. The vessel is depicted fully ship-rigged on all three masts with all sails set. The hull is painted white overall. Features include a bowsprit with four try-sails set; forecastle and aft deck; three masts, sections of which are painted brown; a number of trysails set between the masts; ship’s boats and deckhouses; and a red flag flying from the peek of the gaff.
