Research; Exploration/research vessel; Anti-magnetic vessel

Scale: Unknown. A model of the Research made entirely of wood with metal fittings, partly painted in realistic colours with painted and drawn fittings and details. The hull is painted white with a red stripe at the waterline and a narrow black stripe above and the decks are unpainted. There is a bowsprit, foremast and mainmast and all sails are set, square rigged on the foremast and gaff rigged on the main mast. A pennant is flying from the peak of the gaff yard. The deck house is positioned amidships and two boats are stowed either side of it. Vessel details are inscribed on the underside of the model.
