The Peter Harrison Planetarium is the most immersive event venue in Royal Museums' Greenwich portfolio, suitable for experiences, award ceremonies and receptions for up to 130 guests. Our astronomer-led planetarium show is included in every venue hire, allowing event guests to explore the night sky and the outer reaches of the universe from the comfort of London. The state-of-the-art projector allows clients to show their own content, enjoy film screenings, or make presentations. The venue is ideal for awards ceremonies, product launches, premieres and album launches. The futuristic building offers multiple branding spots, and the Foyer and courtyards allows for larger creative event builds.

Sat at the top of the Astronomy Centre, this circular meeting room is perfect for meetings with a twist and can accommodate up to 12 delegates. The custom-built board table with inbuilt A/V makes meeting set ups easy and we recommend adding on a private planetarium show at the end of the day to give your guests something truly memorable.

What is the maximum capacity of the Peter Harrison Planetarium?
We can host standing events for up to 130 and dinners for up to 80 guests. The Planetarium itself can hold up to 130 people.
Can I bring my own suppliers?
No, we work with an approved list of suppliers for all catering, production, floristry, fireworks, drones and marquee builds, and we offer a recommended list of suppliers for photography, entertainment, event planning and other event enhancements. We know that exceptional suppliers make exceptional events and we work tirelessly to provide our clients with suppliers that can bring creativity, functionality and precision to your event. How do guests get to the Peter Harrison Planetarium?
The Peter Harrison Planetarium is located within Greenwich Park; during park opening times, guests can make their own way to and from the venue. When the park is closed, we arrange a minibus to take guests from St Mary's Gate (north east entrance to Greenwich Park) to the entrance of the Peter Harrison Planetarium, and again to take them back at the end of the event. Can I arrange my own minibus to the venue?
Yes, you are welcome to arrange your own vehicle, however the maximum size of the vehicle can be a 17 seater to be able to get through the gates and successfully reach the Peter Harrison Planetarium. If you are bringing your own vehicle, we will need to speak to them in advance to share details of Greenwich Park's vehicular policy. Guests cannot drive their own vehicle to the venue.
How much does an event cost at the Peter Harrison Planetarium?
Generally, our clients spend between £25,000 - £50,000+VAT on their events at the Royal Observatory. This will vary vastly from client to client, as everything we do is entirely bespoke. We will work with you to establish the most suitable suppliers from our approved list for your budget.
Can I propose to my partner at the Peter Harrison Planetarium?
Yes! We offer several proposal packages for those looking to propose under the stars. Our proposal packages start at £1000 +VAT and include a private planetarium show led by one of our astronomers.
Can I show my own content in the Planetarium?
Yes, we can show presentations on our planetarium dome, or arrange for bespoke planetarium shows using our content to show specific parts of the Universe. If you have something specific in mind, speak to us to get more information.
Can I host a conference at the Peter Harrison Planetarium?
No, the Peter Harrison Planetarium is not available for daytime hire.
