No. 40 in Fanshawe's Pacific album, 1849 - 52. Captioned by the artist on the album page below the image, as title. A well-observed study of the local costume at Tepic, Mexico, where Fanshawe appears to have spent the dates given for it arranging for a freight of silver to be carried to Panama on his ship 'Daphne' from San Blas, the port for Tepic: for his drawing of the town see PAI4651.
