Logbook kept by Dalton aboard HARRIET.

Whaling Logbook, kept by ship's surgeon Dalton while aboard the whaling ship HARRIET on a voyage to and around the Pacific Ocean via Cape Horn. Includes illustrations of whales throughout, a list of sperm whales sighted or caught and how much oil stowed in the vessel (starting at the back of the volume), and an autobiographical note near the back of the volume, written in 1866. Inserts of Chinese blotting paper were found between the pages, and have been put in a separate folder.
