Bespoke Tours

Explore Cutty Sark on an exclusive tour and discover more about the ship’s extraordinary journeys, life on board and its extensive restoration, or treat your guests to a historic tour of the Queen’s House, which recently celebrated its 400th anniversary, and learn more about the building’s classical features and architectural importance as the last surviving piece of Greenwich’s Royal Palace.

The Queen's House also offers an art tour, which highlights the stories of a number of important artworks by artists such as Gainsborough, Rubens, Van de Veldes, Hogarth and Thornhill, as well as the recently acquired famous Armada painting of Elizabeth I.Bespoke tours at The Royal Observatory cover the history of time and naval navigation. Your guest will admire some of the earliest sextants that were used to map the stars by the first astronomer Royals, and see John Harrison’s H4 timekeepers; some of the most important clocks ever made as they allowed sailors to navigate at sea.

Finally, The National Maritime Museum tour covers an array of Naval and Maritime History allowing guests to view collections including figureheads, Nelson’s coat from the battle of Trafalgar and the aluminium speed boat Miss Britain III.

Character Actors

Character actors can welcome and entertain your guests as they bring to life the history of Cutty Sark, the Queen’s House, the Royal Observatory or the National Maritime Museum. Let Captain Woodget or Nannie the figurehead meet and greet your guests, make a speech and conduct tours or simply have the character actors interact with your guests as part of performances and ice breakers.

Telescope viewings

Telescope viewings

At the Royal Observatory we have a number of working telescopes that can be made available for guests to view and use with the guidance of one of our dedicated astronomy team. Smaller telescope or solar telescope viewings can take place on Cutty Sark’s Main Deck, the Royal Observatory’s meridian courtyard or the Museum Colonnades. Greenwich’s Royal Observatory also offers viewings of the Great Equatorial telescope, the largest refracting telescope in the UK; a truly unique experience for your guests.

Planetarium Show

Greenwich is home to London’s only Planetarium. Treat your guests to a private planetarium show led by one of our talented astronomers. For an additional fee guests can personalise the show and decide whether they would like to be transported to a distant planet or fly to the heart of the sun.
