Vessels in a river with land around inscribed ' Cutting the junk masts sunk off Fort Chuenpee Tribune 1858

After taking Canton in 1857, British war ships returned to Hong Kong early in 1858. As Edgell’s ship, the Tribune, passed the Chuenpee they saw several sunken Chinese junks forming a barrier. This image shows British sailors cutting down their masts.
