Leviathan; Warship; 74 guns; Third rate
Scale: Unknown. A model of the British warship Leviathan made in plaster with wood, metal, paper, and cotton fittings which has been realistically painted. The model depicts the vessel at 1.40pm on 21st October 1805 at the height of the Battle of Trafalgar and shows damage to the ship. The ship is three masted, ship rigged on all three masts with set sails. Some of the yards and sails on the main and mizzen masts are broken. The hull is painted black with white stripes along the gun decks, white on the deck, and black on the deck fittings. There is a Union flag flying from the rigging. There is some dark grey cotton wool attached to the deck indicating smoke. On a paper label: "54".
