Polyphemus ?; 64 gun?; Warship

Scale: Unknown. A model of a Royal Naval warship, made in plaster with wood, metal, paper, and cotton fittings which has been realistically painted. The model depicts the vessel at 1.40pm on 21st October 1805 at the height of the Battle of Trafalgar and the ship is shown with damage sustained in the battle. The ship is three masted and ship rigged on all three masts with sets sails, showing shot damage. A Union flag is flying from a halliard rigged to the bowsprit and a pennant is flying from the top of the mainmast. Dark grey smoke is billowing from the deck. The hull is painted black with white stripes along the gun decks, white on the deck, and black on the deck fittings.
