Principe de Asturias; Warship; 112 guns

Scale: Unknown. A model of a Spanish warship, Principe de Asturias, made in plaster with wood, metal, paper, and cotton fittings which has been realistically painted. The model depicts the vessel at 1.40pm on 21st October 1805 at the height of the Battle of Trafalgar and the ship shows damage sustained in the action. The ship is three masted and ship rigged on all three masts. Spanish flags are flying from the peak of the gaff and the top of the main mast. All the sails show shot damage. The hull is painted black with yellow stripes along the three gun decks, white on the deck, and black on the deck fittings. On paper label "2".
