Santissima Trinidad; Warship; 140 guns
Scale: Unknown. A model of the Spanish warship Santissima Trinidad made in plaster with wood, metal, paper, and cotton fittings which has been realistically painted. The model depicts the vessel at 1.40pm on 21st October 1805 at the height of the Battle of Trafalgar and shows extensive damage to the ship. The ship is three masted, ship rigged with set sails, the fore and mizzen masts are partly dismasted and the mainmast is completely dismasted. A large ball of dark grey cotton wool is attached to the model. The hull is painted black with pink stripes along the four gun decks with white outlines, white on the deck, and black on the deck fittings. Deck fittings include a ship's boat. There is a large Spanish flag flying from the peak of the gaff. On a paper label: "49".
