Warship; 74 guns
Scale: Unknown. A model of a French warship made in plaster with wood, metal, paper, and cotton fittings which has been realistically painted. The model depicts the vessel at 1.40pm on 21st October 1805 at the height of the Battle of Trafalgar and the ship is shown with damage sustained in the battle. The ship is three masted, ship rigged and with set sails, showing shot damage. The hull is painted black with white stripes along the two gun decks. The decks are painted white with black deck fittings. Dark grey smoke is billowing port side of the ship. All three masts and the bowsprit are broken with a number of detached parts. The remains of a French tricolour is flying from the peak of the gaff and the remains of a pennant is flying from the top of the mainmast.
