View from the top of Cape Adare (the black spots are penguin rookeries)

A view looking down from the top of Cape Adare over the ice towards Discovery (1901), a research/exploration ship. The Discovery reached Cape Adare on South Victoria Land on 8 January. On the 9th Shackleton went ashore with Bernacchi (who had been there 2 years before under Borchgrevink) in one of the ship's whalers to leave a message for any relief ships.
