A view of the deck of Discovery (1901) after a blizzard.

A starboard side view of the upper deck of the research/exploration ship Discovery (1901), taken from in front of the dredging laboratory near the main mast looking aft. The unidentified person in the centre of the photograph is obscured to his chest by the pile of snow on the deck. The accommodation ladder can be seen on the left of the image, and Discovery had one situated on the starboard side only.

This photograph was used in the Illustrated London News, 27 June 1903.
