E H Shackleton in his cabin on board Discovery (1901)

A photograph of E H Shackleton sitting at his desk reading a large bound volume (unidentified). With his right elbow and upper arm resting on the table, his head is resting on his right hand. On the bulkhead are a number of lamps as well as a pipe, large brush (possibly for clothes) and a mallet.
