Watch

An incredibly strong solar storm in May 2024 made the aurora visible across the UK. Amateur photographer Darren Flinders from Rotherham in the UK took advantage of this rare opportunity to photograph a Nottinghamshire windmill foregrounded against the vivid greens and pinks of the aurora. Darren explains how he took his photo, shortlisted in ZWO Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2025.

Watch

How do we see and hear the Universe? It's a simple question with a complicated answer. Watch how astrophotographer John White created this arresting photo of water droplets vibrating to the 'sound' of a black hole.
