Diary kept by Annie Ellen Rogers,stewardess, on the TALLEY ABBEY (84659) of Cardiff and her subsequent certificate of discharge
Subtitled "From England to the White Sea", journal was kept during a voyage to the White Sea between May 1893 and July 1893. Contains information about the culture of Lapland. Also certificate of discharge (5 July 1893). Botanical sample (holly leaves) found loose in back of book, (rehoused in melinex sleeve) accompanied by the following "These holly skeletons were picked up by Mother by Speckhouse Park Villa, Solihull 9am Sunday March 3rd/95". Also typed transcript of journal (undated) (ten pages).

Annie Ellen Rogers (later Dickinson) was a school teacher, born in Gloucester in 1868. The master of the TALLEY ABBEY at this time appears to have been her brother Henry John Rogers (referred to as Harry or H. in the journal).
